Following the trend, your bracelets will be dangly and have playful movement to reflect that essential quality of your personality.

Personal Style Tip #2 Traditional and Elegant Styles

Your personal style says a lot about you. Clothing, accessories, and jewelry (of particular importance as far as we're concerned), all contribute to your overall image. Continuing from last week, we are exploring several personal styles and images. The first style type we discussed last time was called Sporty. This time, the focus is on the next two categories which are Traditional and Elegant. 

Applegate's traditional style

The traditional image is typically conservative, favoring jewelry that ‘works at work’. In a professional situation, smaller earrings will be employed such as diamond or pearl studs or even petite hoops. Remember when we explored necklines another week? Well, this style type may tend towards jewel necklines and longer necklaces that extend beyond the top edge of the garment.

Cordova Birthstones

Matched jewelry sets are favorites in this image category. Our Cordova line for example, has matching earrings, bracelets, pendants, and rings in birthstones. 

John Hardy

Also on the conservative side is the style type classified as Elegant. You don’t have to hire an image consultant to discern your unique personal style. Your personality determines your jewelry choices as well as your apparel decisions and says a lot about who you are. It's up to you to create an image you are comfortable with and one you want to project.

In their comprehensive work, they categorized styles into seven types – Sporty, Traditional, Elegant, Feminine, Alluring, Creative, and Dramatic. 

Which one is the real you? Maybe you are a combination of two or more or perhaps it depends on the occasion; is it a holiday, wedding, or pool party? Style can also depend on the situation – business dress, evening out, or sporting event?

The first style type, Sporty, defines an active woman who doesn’t want jewelry to hamper her activities.
