Jewelry Tip of the Week - Resolutions Part 3

Get Organized, Save Money, Reduce Stress, Go on Vacation!

As the new year marches on, some of those resolutions we all made January 1st may already be fading away but resolve to keep it up! In this 3rd part of the series, the resolutions of getting organized, saving money, reducing stress, and taking vacations can be interrelated.

Organizing your personal space, the area you have control over, can be a great stress reducer. The jewelry rolls talked about last time can be one way to keep your valuables organized as well as jewelry boxes.

Keeping your finances in order will hopefully not only reduce stress but help to save money if you see where your money is spent. Since some of your income is used on gifts and jewelry, look for specials, sales, or promotions offered by retailers to spend that money wisely.
Retailers, such as your favorite jewelry store, want you to know about deals! Pandora offers specials through the year so be on the lookout for that! Don’t delete that e-mail special until you think about the offer and how you can make good use of it!

Also, making good use of vacation time is a wise choice, not a frivolous one. Go to the beach, go on a tour, go to Europe - just go!  You work hard, you need a break!

Jewelry can be a fun memento of a special vacation and wearing it can evoke fond memories of a great time.

Whether it's a cruise, a beach vacation, or a European city tour, there are charms and other jewelry to commemorate the trip.

Plan vacations ahead to save money, be organized, and reduce stress – it all comes together if you resolve to do it!

Resolutions in Action Part 1

1/16/13 Jewelry Tip of the Week

Well, the most popular New Year resolutions we have seen are to be healthier, lose weight, and quit bad habits. This translates to the jewelry world in a myriad of ways.

You can be healthier and lose weight if you walk more often. When out shopping for jewelry for instance, consider not parking in the closest parking spot and taking a stroll from your car to the store. Or better yet, if something is within walking distance, leave the car at home!

How about “losing weight” in your jewelry box? Now is a good time to get rid of that excess baggage of old or outdated pieces. Consider redesigning old favorites or scrapping your gold for cash.

As far as the resolution of overcoming bad habits, definitely choose to get rid of bad habits that are damaging to your well- being. Replace the old bad habit with a positive alternative.

Don’t overlook the correct care of your precious jewelry. A bad habit that needs to be broken is hanging pearls and chains – better to keep them in jewelry rolls. This also helps separate the different metals for optimum protection for your valuables.

Out with the old and in with the new! Next week there are more resolutions in action!
